I'm sure this post will get lost in the flood, but what the hell.
You are the CM. You should not be here. Your job is one of public relations, and while it is technically your job description to take the flames for this, it's not your moral obligation. It should be management taking the damage from this. Not you.
That said, people are more concerned about the greed newsletter. The pricing is a hilarious joke, but it's the newsletter which scares people. Everything else is bad, but that's the worst of it. That's the thing which drove me (and many others) to quit.

The big problem about the newsletter is that it contains things that should have been communicated to the playerbase.

He voiced his opinion on a internal document. While it was a pretty bad opinion when it comes to Eve it is still just his opinion. I would be more concerned about the state of CCP if they actually did fire someone over a opinion.
Even still NeX and MTs have no place in Eve.. Vanity or not. You already have 2 MT based games coming out theres no reason to degrade Eve with them.

God, it's just that it could've been handled so much god damned better, you know?
You know what you could have done if you'd really wanted to switch business models? Extend the free trial to be indefinite, cut the train speed for trial accounts in half, and split PLEX to be paid for in 24 hour segments.
Instead, we got this. Ugh.
